My name is Noah, I am 10 years old and interested in all forms of modern technology and engineering. In addition to projects like the 3D printer, I also enjoy the outdoors, driving go karts, and admiring yachts and exotic super cars.
My dad and I built a 3D printer for the school science fair last year. I based my design on open source versions. I used arduino for the software and all sorts of metal and plastic parts. I'm so glad to share this with you.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I was making designs in Google Sketch up and wanted to see something real come from my ideas. I was accepted into the GATE program at my school and suddenly I was required to attend the science fair. I asked my dad if we could make a 3D printer. He didn't think we could do it. I kept saying, "Why not?" He said we could try but keep your expectations low. Six weeks later we had a working 3D printer.
