The Mobile Ice Cream Cone

Maker Faire Bay Area 2015

May 15th-17th

Exhibit Young Makers

Inspired by the muffin cars, we built a mobile ice cream cone. Like most of our projects, we try to re-purpose materials and keep costs down, using old motorized wheelchairs and scooters for motors, wheels, batteries and controls, scrapped plywood to build a base and top ring of the frame and scrapped sheet metal to cover the exterior. The base the waffle pattern created by paint and floor transition strips. The ice cream top foam base is from old spa covers covered with material and foam.

Young Makers Showcase Maker

The Young Makers program brings together a community of young people with mentors and a space to make. In small clubs, participants work together to design and make a youth-chosen, open-ended project which they showcase at Maker Faire!
