Desktop Mini Aquaponics

Maker Faire Bay Area 2015

May 15th-17th

Exhibit Young Makers

This miniature version of the amazing aquaponics system is a desktop model that includes a fish tank and a grow bed where plants grow using the waste of the fish for nutrients while they filter the water for the fish, giving them clean and clear water. It demonstrates conservation principles of reusing and recycling. The tank and grow bed were created from a large glass jug, cut in half. All supporting elements were designed on a computer and cut with a laser cutter.
