ChibiMo is a super-compact MCU+LCD combo board for prototyping. Compatible with Arduino, it makes prototyping LCD-oriented appliances super easy.
What inspired you to make this project?:
There is a predecessor product that shares the same name ChibiMo. It is simply a DIY USB monitor kit, and has been around for some time in Japan (in very small quantities).
The former ChibiMo is also based on Arduino, and some customers suggested that they wanted revised version of it more optimized for prototyping, because tweaking it with Arduino IDE was so easy. They also suggested that they wanted fully assembled product, because building full SMD kits for prototyping multiple units was just too much of burden.
As producing fully assembled units costs a lot, especially for small quantities, I first thought it was impossible. But the same suggestions pop up every once in a while, and there is crowdfunding... then I should give it a go, with new, different designs fully optimized for prototyping.
