M8D Virtual Reality Headset

M8D (pronounced MADE) Virtual Reality Headset is crafted for everyday use: water + coffee resistant, portable, and affordable.

What inspired you to make this project?:
After meeting and speaking with fellow makers at last year's MakerFaire, we were inspired and found the tools to make our ideas into a reality. We heard about Google Cardboards just days before the MakerFaire event in San Mateo. We had an idea to make an VR app as our next game app development. We spent the next month testing different VR viewers on the market, none of which had all the features we were looking for. We didn't know that the tools and resources we've gathered at last year's MakerFaire came in handy when we decided to make our own VR headset. We had spoken to local fabricators and 3D printers manufacturers. These contacts helped us develop our prototypes. After hundreds of iterations, we've developed the current version of our product, M8D VR Headset.
