The LifeGlider(TM) is a practical device for many of the more than 30 million Americans with difficulties standing and walking. With the LifeGliderTM, many wheelchair users can walk. It also solves “the balance problem” of traditional walking aids.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I saw the veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan with loss of legs and head wounds. The story about their plight made me upset that there were such poor choices for them to help them regain some semblance of a normal life. The fundamental need to literally "stand up to life" seemed out of reach to many of them, so I decided to do something about it. This led to the LifeGlider(TM) project and by the time of the event, 3 years of work to make a practical solution that improves people's abilities to stand and walk.
