Maker Faire Tashkent 2025
LUMEN
Home: Dashoguz, Turkmenistan
LUMEN is the centerpiece of a month-long robotics education initiative developed to introduce young students to the exciting world of robotics. Through hands-on learning and mentorship it will teach students how to control, build, and code simple robots. The project will culminate in a local Makerfaire exhibition where students showcase their robots and prepare for local robotics competitions. LUMEN will serve as a live teaching model throughout the program. This project empowers those new to STEM with robotics experience, showing them that they can be engineers, not only users of technology. By learning to build and control robots, they gain engineering, critical thinking skills, and exposure to potential future career paths in a fun and accessible way.

What Inspired You to Make This?
My mother, an engineer who graduated from Tashkent University of Information Technologies has always been a role model for me. What inspired me to create the LUMEN project is my experience participating in the Technovation Girls program, where I discovered how technology and innovation can empower girls and women in STEM to solve real-world challenges. In addition to pursuing Honors level Math and Physics classes in the United States, I developed a stronger passion for robotics and engineering. All in all, these experiences have led me to developing a hands-on robotics initiative to inspire young STEM enthusiasts and equip them with the necessary skills and experience to confidently explore robotics.
