Keri Christensen
Hi, I’m Keri—the heart and hands behind Retrowaves. I grew up in an artistic household by the ocean in the Hamptons, where creativity was part of everyday life and nature served as a constant source of inspiration. I fell in love with embroidery and fiber arts for their meditative rhythm and the way they bring texture and meaning to simple materials—especially when crafted by hand in small batches. With a background in business and a passion for all things handmade, I started Retrowaves to blend art, sustainability, community, and style. Every piece—from custom embroidered apparel to upcycled home goods—is created with intention and a whole lot of heart. I’m all about turning the everyday into something more personal, more joyful, and always one-of-a-kind...something that never goes out of style.

What Inspired You to Make This?
This project was inspired by my passion for art, community, and our planet. I love encouraging others to reconnect with their creativity in ways that are sustainable and meaningful. By upcycling unwanted items into functional art, I hope to show that even the simplest materials can be transformed with care and intention. That’s why I’ll be actively embroidering on-site and showing others how to do the same—because I believe art should be shared, hands-on, and accessible to all.
