David-Lang-Maker--Faire-Bay-Area

David Lang

The first prototypes are never pretty, but they’re always necessary. It’s important to view maker projects from a long-term perspective. They change and evolve through time. The OpenROV project evolved from a barely working prototype to a capable machine after dozens of iterations. Too often, this evolutionary process is hidden, even though the best learning takes place in the earliest stages. Come learn about our newest adventure (and prototype): a portable electric houseboat.
CENTER STAGE

The video game company Bethesda contacted Adam Savage and his team at Tested.com to build a model of their spaceship Frontier from the new game Starfield. We built a full ship and a cutaway cockpit model. We altered the existing computer models of the ship, 3D printed the parts, fabricated scratch build components, and more!
