Mare Island was the inaugural US Navy base on the Pacific Ocean. Situated just 25 miles northeast of  San Francisco in Vallejo, California, this iconic shipyard is uniquely bordered by the  Napa River. Immerse yourself in its rich heritage as the river flows through the Mare Island Strait.

Parking Information:

Prepaid parking passes are available through Eventbrite for $10. 

Parking passes are available for purchase onsite for $20.

Shuttles run every 2O minutes but if you prefer to walk from parking to the venue there is a pedestrian path and way finding.

Parking is FREE on Fridays.

Ferry Information:

Saturdays and Sundays only:

Shuttle pick up from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal at 11:20 am and 12:20 pm with drop off at the Maker Faire Gates.

Return is even easier Ferry all the way. Ferry departs Mare Island at 3:20 pm

The only return option is the Ferry departing Mare Island at 3:20pm. We will not have return shuttles going back to the Vallejo Ferry Terminal.

Getting to Maker Faire

Take Highway 101 to Highway 37 towards Vallejo.

Before the raised overpass, take the Mare Island/Walnut Avenue exit.

Take the I-80 freeway west toward Vallejo. Take exit 33B to merge onto Highway 37 west toward Novato/San Rafael.

Take the I-680 freeway over the Benicia Bridge to I-780 west. I-780 becomes Curtola Parkway.

Follow Curtola Parkway along the waterfront and past the marinas.

Turn left at Mare Island Causeway.

We have secured an assortment of hotel rooms in Vallejo for both weekends of Maker Faire Bay Area. Hotel rooms in these blocks are first come, first served, so book yours today!
