They are particularly interested in not only helping young people explore and express intersecting identities through sustainable creative expression and radical imagination, but also helping adults learn handy skills to empower their communities.
What Inspired You to Make This?
As the default handy-man of my friend group, I've realized how lucky I've been to have had access to learning how to use tools and other handy skills. When I began teaching kids, I had countless friends and acquaintances mention how they wish they could take my classes as adults. I realized quickly how few options there were for adults to learn mending and building skills in a relaxed, low stakes, fun environment. Rebuild became a way for me to help pass on these skills to my community and bring handy skills to everyone! Beyond that, I'm passionate about creative reuse and empowering communities to use supplies that already exist as a way to stop perfectly good materials from entering our waste system.
