Johnette Roberts Ballard
Johnette Roberts Ballard is a mathematics educator with 32 years’ experience in education. Considered a gold-standard educator, Johnette is an 8-time Teacher of the Year award winner, National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescence Mathematics and a Certified Elementary Mathematics Specialist. Also known as a “mathemusician,” Johnette has been honored for teaching mathematics through music. Johnette is passionate about teaching and learning. She is the founder of Teach 4 LIFE Enterprise, LLC, an educational consulting company that has as its primary focus empowerment in understanding critical foundations for future learning in mathematics. She is the creator of “Math Grooves,” songs that engage students in learning important math concepts through music. Affectionately known as “Ms. Sunshine,” Johnette is passionate about helping learners to be confident thinkers and problem solvers.

Music has been an integral part of my life. Music inspires the soul. Music is therapeutic. I've had much success in teaching using music. I want to inspire music appreciation in students and also confidence in math learning and achievement through music.
