Luis Pacheco

Luis Pacheco is a Robotics and Digital Fabrication Research Specialist in the School of Architecture and the Robotics and Digital Fabrication ( RDF lab) at Florida International University. As an experienced researcher in digital manufacturing, computational design, and architectural robotics, his research focuses on innovative workflows with additive manufacturing in construction and robot control interfaces. He holds a master's degree in Robotics and Advanced Construction from IAAC in Barcelona and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Universidad de La Salle Bajio in Mexico. He co-founded and was a former CEO of MakerMex, Mexico’s first 3D printer manufacturing company where he led a multidisciplinary team developing 3D printers, laser cutters, and customized robotic systems for over 8 years. Prior to moving to the US he also co-founded several projects like MakerLab Leon and MakerScad.He was recognized as one of Mexico’s MIT Innovators under 35 in 2016.
