Maker Faire Rome 2024

Angela, the double haloed flying machine

Home: Italy

This is a personal flying machine. It began as a concept of a flying bike but now it is more like a street luge with wings. If you were at Makerfaire 2022 in Rome, maybe you saw it looking more like a bicycle. This is the latest version. With motors and props, ready to take to the sky. It uses ground effect and will cruise for 6-7 minutes with it's onboard battery. You will NOT need a license to operate this safely. I have made it with the Maker in Mind. 100% open source and hardware.

My team is my son and I. Working on this project is part of the homeschooling plan I set up for my son. We are open to sharing and working with others. I have always been a technical arist. What that means to me is adhereing to the technical and physical laws of nature while adding aesthetics that embody those physical laws. One design adage I always keep in mind when working on this flying machine is, "If it looks good, it'll fly good." I am schooled in the Arts; Berklee College of music. And Tech; Harvard, MIT. I live in Cambridge MA and work on this with my son.
