UGears Wooden Mechanical Models

UGEARS is a 2014 Ukrainian startup with a growing worldwide reputation for producing unique, self-propelled, wooden mechanical DIY models, puzzle boxes and educational toys. Each UGEARS model has its own mechanical action that will amaze and delight. UGEARS model kits come with everything you need for assembly. All parts are laser pre-cut into a high-quality plywood board for easy removal and assembly. Motion is accomplished using rubber bands, springs, gears and gravity acompnied with detailed color diagrams and step-by-step instructions. No glue, special expertise, tools or equipment are required. You will be able to touch every piece, every gear cog, and discover first-hand the workings of simple machines. Experience the thrill of self-propelled mechanical action that doesn't come from an electric socket or battery.

Para a exposição transportamos apenas uma fração de dimensão reduzida do f@b.SmartCity, dada a impossibilidade de movimentar o projeto patente nas instalações do f@b.CPL.

The main objective is to enact short-term, low-stakes simulations of potential permanent park installations, servicing the wants and needs of multiple publics. Designed to be ridden around a city and quickly assembled, a bike pulls a trailer holding the necessary components for constructing a “parklet,” enabling previously unused spaces to become more inviting. Mobile in nature, our vision is to reach out to communities who are less likely to have the time, resources or political leverage to engage in community design.

Este projeto tem por base a criação de biomateriais feitos à base de cogumelo, com caracteristicas únicas e que são uma execelente alternativa aos plásticos, uma vez que no seu fim de vida estes são compostaveis. O seu processo de produção é muito idêntico ao ciclo de produção do cogumelo, sendo por isso um processo de baixo impacto a nível ambiental e que utiliza como materiais resíduos das indústrias do café e arroz.
