Tech Playgrounds robots en plastic recycling

In Tech Playgrounds gaan Eindhovense techies wekelijks in werkplaatsen in de stad aan de slag met hun handen. Ze showen hun zelfgebouwde machines om plastic te recyclen, geïnspireerd op Precious Plastic Project. In samenwerking met Brunel Foundation! Ook is ons FTC-robotteam Zappp aanwezig. Zij gaan live aan hun robot werken en hacken zo het weekeinde door. Ze zoeken nieuwe teamleden, dus jongeren van 14-18 jaar kunnen meteen kennismaken! Jeugdwerkers geven ook uitleg over de Tech Playgrounds.

Sepia Lux

Sepia Lux and is the creation of a number of artists and was built in Santa Rosa CA. It is a 36’ long, 15’ wide animatronic, inflatable cuttlefish. The balloon portion of the project was designed and made by Bill Kennedy (Inflatabill ). The lighting design, programming and integration was done by Brian Willison. Mechanics, robotics, electronics were done by Loren Crotty of Santa Rosa. Contributions were made by over a dozen other individuals over the course of its build. The car is powered with 2 lithium battery banks with onboard generator power as well. There are multiple moving systems including 4 cam driven fin arrays and 9 linear actuators control head tentacles using Arduino +switches. Thousands of LEDs are controlled via computer, and 2 hemispherical LED monitors serve as eyeballs.

We are The Retro Roadshow, an interactive hands-on museum of vintage computers and video games. Our mission is to help people understand how the technology of yesteryear lead to the world we live in now, by letting visitors engage with the entertaining and creative aspects of vintage technology. For the 2023 Maker Faire, we will be presenting a hands-on interactive exhibit in which visitors learn about the history of video games by tracking the evolution of Nintendo’s Mario character. Attendees will experience Mario’s origins in the classic game “Donkey Kong” on Atari consoles, through his appearances in games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube. Visitors to our exhibit will have fun while learning!
