Top Drawer Research
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Top Drawer Research is an interactive puzzle, shown as part of the CADRE Student Organization’s Scratch Disk exhibit. Audience members are invited to investigate the Archivist’s computer desk to uncover evidence about him to help him escape! His computer is filled with research about students, art, and technology from his years of traversing the Scratch. Use clues from web-based puzzles and riddles to open sequential locks on the Archivist’s set of drawers. Here, you’ll find secrets and hints, including physical ephemera, logic puzzles, and more. Come help the Archivist with Top Drawer Research!
The Riddlers
The Riddlers are made up of San José State University Digital Media Art students Hannah Yee, Akari Che, Nabeeha Ahsan, and alum Cassie Santander. We are passionate about art, storytelling, and puzzles! For Top Drawer Research, we wanted to collaborate to combine digital and physical media into an immersive, cohesive puzzle that helps build the environment of Scratch Disk.
CADRE Student Organization Showcase Maker
CADRE S.O. (Computers in Art, Design, Research & Education Student Organization) is a student-run club from San José State University that explores the intersection of Art, Design, and Technology through collaboration and experimentation. We create student-led projects and installation artworks that are exhibited at festivals and shows in the Bay Area with the help of the CADRE Laboratory for New Media.
