Puppet Theater
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Our project is an interactive, powered animatronic puppet show that bridges classic storytelling with modern technology. The exhibit features a custom-built miniature stage housing several motorized puppets capable of moving their mouths and hands.
When a visitor interacts with the exhibit, they provide a simple prompt or story starter. An AI model processes this input, making it into a creative story or dialogue. This generated script is then fed into a microcontroller. As the audio plays through the speakers, the microcontroller sends the motors a command to make the puppets "talk." It’s a whimsical fusion of robotics, some AI, and puppetry that demonstrates how AI can be used as a tool for creative expression.
