Printcycle: Beyond the Spool – Creative Upcycling for 3D Waste
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Most 3D printer hobbyists have a "bucket of shame" filled with failed prints and supports. While many dream of recycling this back into filament, the technical barriers are high. Printcycle offers a different path. Join us to learn how to turn 3D scrap into beautiful, functional materials using common maker tools like T-shirt presses, laser cutters, and simple molds. We’ll dive into why sheet-pressing is the "secret weapon" of plastic recycling and how you can start transforming your waste into art today.

Jason Reynolds
Jason Reynolds is a long-time fixture of the Maker community and a passionate advocate for sustainable 3D printing. Having spent years volunteering at Maker Faires and hosting 3D printing booths, Jason has seen firsthand the mountain of waste the hobby can produce. This inspired the birth of Printcycle, a project dedicated to turning "the bucket of shame" into artisanal raw material. By combining years of technical 3D printing expertise with accessible upcycling methods, Jason aims to empower makers to close the loop on their plastic waste without the need for industrial machinery.
