Mobility Making Party
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Mobility Making Party is a hands-on social event where makers, families, and volunteers come together to assemble open-source Toddler Mobility Trainers (TMTs) for young children with mobility disabilities.
From 10:30am-12:30pm , participants will directly help create life-changing mobility devices - and at the end of the event, families receive the TMTs built by the community.
As Maker Faire celebrates 20 years, this Mobility Making Party highlights how the maker movement has evolved from building cool things to building real social impact through open-source assistive technology, community collaboration, and distributed manufacturing.
MAKEGOOD west
MakeGood West was established in January 2026 by Dana Yichye Shwachman, a social-impact industrial designer and educator, together with Mark Fuglevand, a social entrepreneur and assistive technology designer, as the West Coast hub of MakeGood Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in New Orleans in 2021. Through inclusive, human-centered design, we focus on two key areas: advancing mobility, independence, and self-determination for children with disabilities, including the ongoing development of the Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMT); and creating solutions that support independent parenthood for people living with disabilities. Through open-source design, 3D printing, and community collaboration, we transform real needs into accessible, life-changing solutions.
