Micro Seeker

Maker Faire Bay Area 2026

September 25th-27th

Exhibit Fun & Games

Players take on the role of assistants to the Archivist (a character from the Scratch Disk group exhibition) in a three-player cooperative "Where's Waldo"-style puzzle. Using viewport devices that create the illusion of zooming into old pieces of technology, players explore hidden 3D digital worlds inside these devices. Each player controls their view with handheld knobs, working together to search for three specific digital components the Archivist needs. Once all components are found, they are "3D printed" and collected for the Archivist, advancing the larger Scratch Disk puzzle and reinforcing the game's theme of uncovering valuable objects hidden within old technology.

Mirco Seekers

The “mirco seekers” of the micro seeker project are three SJSU students and members of the CADRE club. Aron is a graduate of the digital media art program, Alex is a current digital media art student, and Sean is a current art and design student. Together they specialize in illustration, modeling, and game design.

CADRE S.O. (Computers in Art, Design, Research & Education Student Organization) is a student-run club from San José State University that explores the intersection of Art, Design, and Technology through collaboration and experimentation. We create student-led projects and installation artworks that are exhibited at festivals and shows in the Bay Area with the help of the CADRE Laboratory for New Media.
