Making things good! Exploring quality, safety and a tool for accountability
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
In a future where anyone can make anything, how will you know what you can trust?
Join us to explore your own thoughts on trust, quality and safety in the products we rely on. Share with us what you would want to see when you print a children's toy at home, when a maker makes a medical device or a makerspace copies a spare part for your car.
ALSO! Play with a demo of the latest version of 'Globally Distributed Tracking' - a software tool that traces the history of a product. Now being used to track tourniquets for Ukraine and medical devices in Africa... oh, and to track wildlife in the USA!
This work is part of a project funded by the National Science Foundation.
