Inspired by biology, designed for the planet, Mango Materials makes products and materials with the environment in mind.
Made with YOPP® (which stands for You Omit Polluting Plastics), is a replacement for traditional plastic that is made with PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) as the key ingredient. PHA is a biopolymer made by bacteria and therefore, YOPP is biobased and can biodegrade by naturally occurring microorganisms when no longer needed.
We currently offer products for the whole family, including a sandbox toy set (for ages 2+), 3D filament (for teens and adults alike), and 3D printed items (jewelry, etc.) for the adults. This is a great way to educate about biomanufacturing, the carbon cycle, and for better materials and a better planet.
Mango Materials
Mango Materials creates next generation eco-friendly materials designed with the end in mind. Started by three female PhDs and based in California, the company has always focused on the development of PHA, a biopolymer made from bacteria. This biopolymer is a replacement for traditional, polluting plastics in many applications. Most recently, Mango Materials has launched a direct to consumer Sandbox Toy Set and 3D filament and products to showcase this biopolymer and help educate the everyday consumer about better materials for their health and the planet.
