Kitiki Computer - Open Source E-Ink Laptop
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Kitiki is a 13.3" open e-ink laptop. Most e-ink devices today are single-purpose: e-readers, dedicated typewriters, or tablets running a locked-down OS. Kitiki can run full linux and do regular "computer" things. Things like reviewing a GitHub PR, SSH-ing into a server, publishing a blog post are almost impossible on a tablet or Kindle.
It runs on a simplified, e-ink-friendly operating system that makes content look great. It ships with a few core apps (email, web browsing, doc writing, an AI chat app), and a UI kit so people can build their own e-ink apps.
The hardware is open source and available as a kit, so people can repair or build their own from scratch.

Hi, I'm Ravi. I've spent many hours working at computer screens. I wished there was an easier way to work outside and do creative things, so I started to build the Kitiki laptop. It's pushed me to learn so much more about hardware and making devices. I'm excited to put what I've been working out in the world.
