KaidoTrainer

Maker Faire Bay Area 2026

September 25th-27th

Exhibit Electronics

KaidoTrainer is a handheld game console that turns learning real electronics into an adventure. Players explore a retro-pixel RPG world on the built-in screen, and as the story unfolds, the game prompts them to build real circuit activities on the breadboard built directly into the gamepad. Light up a dark cave by wiring a flashlight circuit. Unlock a gate by building an AND gate out of real components. Solve a puzzle by wiring a shadow detector.

It's a full retro adventure game where every real-world circuit a kid builds advances the story. No prior electronics experience required - the in-game companion, Kaido, teaches players as they go. Ages 8+.

Come play the game, build a real circuit, and see the game respond to what you made.

Onuska & Brown Technologies Ltd.

Onuska & Brown Technologies is a hardware startup building KaidoTrainer, a handheld game console with a breadboard built into the gamepad that teaches kids real electronics through gameplay. Founded by Ian Onuska (CEO) and David Brown (CTO), the company is based on the belief that kids learn engineering best when the physical object they hold does something real. We are pre-launch and currently demoing working prototypes and developing the full game system.
