Glow Plushies
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Turn creativity into something soft, glowing, and completely your own in this hands-on Glow Plushies workshop! Participants can create an adorable light-up felt plushie using pre-cut felt pieces, colorful accessories, soft polyfil stuffing, and an LED light element.
Perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, this workshop makes stitching easy, relaxing, and rewarding. Learn simple assembly and hand-stitching techniques while customizing your plushie with unique details and decorations. Once assembled, each plushie comes to life with a magical LED glow.
Great for kids, families, craft nights, parties, makerspaces, or anyone who loves handmade projects, this workshop combines creativity, crafting, and a little bit of glow-in-the-dark magic. Everyone leaves with a plushie ready to display, gift, or snuggle.
Make it. Light it. Love it.

Hi There! I’m Sara, a maker educator and the creator behind saboMade. Since 2008, I’ve worked with young learners, combining creativity, curiosity, and hands-on exploration to empower the next generation of thinkers and makers. My approach blends open-ended invitations with thoughtful constraints, encouraging students to explore materials, iterate on ideas, and grow their confidence through discovery. saboMade was created to make engineering and making accessible to all ages, using approachable materials and hands-on activities that turn abstract concepts into tangible creations.
