Counter Culture Labs is a community lab for Do-It-Yourself biology and citizen science in Oakland. A place to explore, learn, work on fun individual projects, and tinker with biology. Come visit our Kombucha Petting Zoo, see a running bioreactor, and check out our Agar Art!
It is our mission to make biology accessible to anyone, of any age. At our booth you will be able to explore science, technology, and biology.

We are a vibrant community of amateur and professional scientists, makers, and bio-enthusiasts. CCL is dedicated to democratizing science by making a fully-equipped biotechnology and microbiology lab accessible to the public. We host workshops, public meetups, and collaborative projects focused on mycology, synthetic biology, plant biology and fermentation science.
