Chemistry Under Construction
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Your home is constructed from many different materials. Learn about the chemical composition of these materials - what elements do they contain, how are they made, what are their properties?
It all starts with the Great Element Hunt - learning about the Periodic Table by locating the elements that are combined in different building materials. Then, we can learn about the chemical reactions that transform these materials during construction.
American Chemical Society - California Section
The California Section of the American Chemical Society promotes chemistry and the chemical profession in the Northern California area. We provide programs and services for members, recognize and assist educators and students, and host public outreach events to convey the importance of chemistry in today’s rapidly changing technological society.
