Chair Person
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
“Chair Person” is a chair whose backrest reveals a design motif, such as a necktie, when a jacket is hung over it. A chair’s backrest has the affordance of being used as a coat rack, and we often find ourselves hanging our jackets there without thinking. This interaction design piece focuses on this kind of unconscious human behavior. Alongside “Chair Person,” I will also present other “idea” works that strike a balance between “(e)ngineering” and “(de)sign.”
sakua - just an i(d(e))a
I’m sakua from “just an i(d(e))a.” My motto is “prototype weird ideas and toss them into the world.” I create idea-driven works that strike a balance between “(e)ngineering” and “(de)sign.” So far, I’ve sent ideas out into the world that make everyday life a little richer, such as “ChiMelody,” a wind chime that plays songs written on paper strips, as well as playful ideas that make people chuckle, such as “Let’s Read E-books While Smelling the Scent of Books.”
