Build a Flashlight, become a TAVI co-creator!
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
TAVI Labs is a nonprofit that encourages kids to make. We spun out of Ambessa, a social enterprise that designs DIY kits on a one-for-one model. For every kit built, one is donated to a displaced child out of school.
In this workshop, kids 8+ build their own DIY flashlight from scratch and learn the basics of electricity along the way. We then sit down together to co-design TAVI's platform, share your build, and tell us what you'd want to see, what you'd change, and what you'd build next.
Every kid leaves with a flashlight they made and a say in what TAVI becomes.
