Amateur Radio Digital Communications
Maker Faire Bay Area 2026
September 25th-27th
Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC) is a private foundation that exists to support amateur radio and digital communication science and technology. We do this through making grants (including support for scholarship programs and research & development projects) and managing 44Net.
44Net is shorthand for Internet network 44 (44.0.0.0/9, 44.128.0.0/10), also known as AMPRNet. Since its allocation to amateur radio in the mid-1980s, the network has been used by amateur radio operators to conduct scientific research and to experiment with digital communications over radio.
At the MakerFaire we'll be offering a demonstration of 44Net Connect, a service that makes it easy for hams to begin using 44Net IPv4 addresses through a simple, modern setup. We'll help you get set up (for FREE!) to experience lightning-fast WireGuard tunnels, enterprise-grade BGP routing, and seamless 44net integration. Join us in pioneering the next generation of amateur radio networking! This is your sandbox to experiment with cutting-edge technologies.
We'll also be available to discuss the opportunity to apply for a grant from ARDC and share the results of previously-funded projects.
