Jackie Huang was a 3D story artist at Lucas Film whose passion for art transcends the boundaries of various art forms. Needle Felting is one of the many art forms that he excelled in. And with the immense love and passion towards needle felting, Jackie created Woolbuddy, a collection of unique characters who come to life through the art of needle felting. As Woolbuddy flourished with the love and support of the people who fell in love with the varieties of characters he created, Jackie started to feel the need to share his skills with people and spread the love towards art. He has been doing workshops and classes on needle felting for a long time now and he continues to spread his love through the art of needle felting.
In this workshop, you will learn how to do needle felting and make your own cute Woolbuddy.

What inspired you to make this project?:
The current pandemic has been very harsh to all of us both mentally and economically. But utilizing these hard times into something good is the only option we are left with. I figured that needle felting is a good hobby people can take up while staying home. I hope this project will help people learn the art of needle felting and enjoy the beautiful process of turning wool into cute fuzzy characters. Needle felting is also believed to be therapeutic and relaxing and can help calm you down amidst the chaos Hence, through this project I hope to spread the love of art.
What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?:
The current pandemic situation is the biggest challenge we are facing as we cannot do the workshops in person, gathering in one place, chatting, and doing it together like we used to before. But we are lucky enough we can do this workshop virtually and learn and make projects together.
