Virtual race with autonomous cars

Virtually Maker Faire 2020

May 22nd-23rd

Exhibit

The DIY Robocars community is a 10,000-strong group of AI and robotics enthusiasts around the world who race small autonomous cars against each other on both real-world tracks and in a sophisticated online simulator. The standard setup is called Donkeycar, and uses a camera and deep learning software to navigate the track and pass competitors. In the physical world, Donkey is a low-cost RC-style car with a RaspberryPi doing the driving (AI training is done in the cloud), but for the virtual races all you need is a computer to run the software at home.

This is our second global virtual race, using our new Mountain Track. You can see a preview here: https://youtu.be/uXbQs_rjFBE
