Happy Code Club Instructors and Volunteers are working to develop a platform that features the ability for someone who is hungry and unable to get food through grab meals or is unaware of resources of food, to sign up to receive donated food through our app. Anyone with surplus food can easily donate food simply with the app.
We need to build a network of volunteers that are willing to drive to pick up food from the various donors and deliver it to the hungry families. Think of it as the uber eats for the hungry yet unable to pay. It has the aim to put volunteer drivers on the road on a new mission, to bring food from Sponsors who want to help during the crisis and driving it their donated food items to those in their local communities. Even the sponsors themselves can drive. Anyone can donate food, individuals, corporate cafeterias, anyone who has the app can just donate what they can at anytime and schedule the pick up. The app will match this donation with someone who signs up and deliver it, people can receive a donation on a schedule or one time but on schedule will be best and anyone can donate one time or on a schedule.
There is much wasted food out there and this idea can bring a community together with the simple goal to help locally and the app/platform will allow any community to participate and donate food in their community.
