Virtually Maker Faire 2020

May 22nd-23rd

Exhibit

This will feature 3 episodes of ‘The Innovation Series’ from UOW Innovation campus.

Through ‘The Innovation Series’ we are telling stories that inspire us in spite of adversity, highlighting the connections we make in the spirit of wanting to make a difference. UOW Makerspace has one such story.

It all started with a casual chat with a local healthcare worker…

Today, UOW MakerSpace, in collaboration with TRICEP, Me3D and Cammpro, have worked together to create more than 3000 3D printed face shields to protect our region’s healthcare workers. Now, MakerSpace are calling #makers to unite in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 by registering their interest to lend a hand.

Watch episode #2 of 'The Innovation Series' to hear more about this fascinating story of collaboration and community support.

Hear from Jess at UOW Makerspace and how her team are protecting our frontline healthcare workers by uniting #makers across the region!

Episode # 3

When we close the research-industry gap it can be a win for both sides, and that benefits our community.

This is one such story. Just over a month ago, UOW researchers, led by Distinguished Professor Gordon Wallace begun collaborating with industry to protect our frontline healthcare workers. Today, an additive manufacturing network has formed, uniting 3D printers from across our region.

What collaborations and discoveries are in store for this network? The sky is the limit. Watch episode 3 of ‘The Innovation Series’ to hear more about this collaborative, transformative network working to save lives.
