Temple City PPE Mask Initiative

Our Temple City PPE Initiative is a community effort to combat mask shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic in the LA area. Our team, as well as others in Temple City, help 3D print masks to be sent to LA hospitals in need. We utilized crowdfunding campaigns to raise money for materials, and community networking to expand our 3D printing resources and involve those outside of our team in the project. We are currently printing masks and face shields around the clock with our network of six 3D printers, connected through a safe and efficient logistics chain which allows individuals to drop off masks and pick up new printer filament all without interacting face-to-face. The mask designs were standardized by an LA wide CrashSpace group.
