Letterpress Printing a Wooden Typeface With a Mallet

This wood type is struck with a mallet. Experience printing 100pt. (7/8") letters. Hand ink (non-toxic tempra paint) each letter, then print with a hammer.

Print a 4" x 6" postcard, one per participant.

All materials are provided.

Nicholas Yeager

Nicholas Yeager is a calligrapher, book conservator, rare book librarian and book arts instructor. He designed Percussive Roman to integrate history, technology and craft as a hands-on experience. Yeager also lectures on the history of the book.
