At Chabot Space & Science Center’s Galaxy Explorer teen volunteer program, we not only provide community service, but a chance to explorer deeper in to STEM by working on projects to showcase at the museum once a year. These teens gain the motivation and tools to thrive in a STEM career.

Elina Rios

Elina has been working with teens since she was one. Growing up in a low-income neighborhood in Southern California, she received her B.A. in Biology, and worked for the CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife before becoming a youth coordinator for outdoor and STEM programs. Elina currently manages the Galaxy Explorer teen volunteer program at Chabot Space & Science Center.
