I grew up in a creative family that were involved in puppetry,painting,photography and woodworking. When I discovered Maker Faire I found a place to display what I enjoy doing and encourage others to pursue their creative side.
What started out as a wooden mechanical arm that I wore as a spectator to Maker Faire in 2012 has evolved into an entire suit that I am reasonably sure is finished. The overall look of the suit stems from a complete lack of planning.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I first attended Maker Faire in 2012 as a spectator but I decided to wear a mechanical wooden arm that I had built after seeing some steampunk designs. I was feeling a little bit foolish while waiting in line to enter the Faire but the people around me were quite supportive and complimentary. By the end of the Faire I had received so much positive feedback that I built another larger, more elaborate arm that I wore the following year. The year after that I entered Maker Faire as an exhibitor and have continued to expand on the costume every year since.
