I am a designer, circuitry seamstress, coder, crafter, and aspiring cyborg living in Brooklyn. My work explores the intersection of emerging tech and traditional craft. I am passionate about wearable design, soft circuitry and interface design.
A wearable that turns knitting into music
What inspired you to make this project?:
This project was my Masters Thesis. I wanted to design for the knitter of the future by using technology to create a new conversation between the crafter and their process. Knitting is calming, healing, communal, expressive and empowering. It fills a basic human desire that transcends its utility. I think it's important for us to consider whether we imagine a future where people still make things by hand.
