HONK NYC! is an annual extravaganza of D.I.Y. street bands that celebrates the spirit of communal spectacle making. Over 200 musicians and performers gather to play for audiences in parks, schools and venues across NYC.
Sara Valentine
Sara Valentine has produced HONK NYC! since 2008. She was in the right place at the right time when Hungry March Band formed in her living room and has been dancing and clowning with the band ever since. She also plays percussion with Batala NYC.
Jill Woodward
Jill Woodward combines her passions of dance and film with projects like passTRESpass, a dance workshop with refugees in Greece. She created two related films, with a third underway. She dances with the Hungry March Band, and drums with Batala NYC.
Alita Edgar
Alita Edgar is a producer/instigator of large-scale collaborative art events, based in New Orleans, where she runs Ex Voto, a fashion design collective. Her interests include boating, self-actualization, creative reuse, and hospitality art. Visit: https://exvotoneworleans.com

Gisela Torino
Gisela started her career as sound engineer for live and recording artists, working with all types of music genres from jazz to salsa. Pursuing a growing curiosity for understanding how things work, (building guitar effect pedals was an early hobby), she decided to get an Electrical Engineering degree at the tender age of 35. Presently, she works in the AV industry as a programmer, designer, and installer of automated audio visual systems.
Lynn Stabile
Lynn Stabile is a maker, artist, and UX designer based in Brooklyn, New York. In a constant state of creating -- she augments and tweaks existing products, customizes bicycle accessories, makes toys, paints, draws comics, and designs clothing. She has taught workshops in recycled crafts making handmade paper, stuffed animals, and weaving and finger crocheting t-shirts. She is a drummer in Batala NYC, an Afro-Brazilian samba reggae band, prefers bicycle as primary mode of transport, and her favorite food is kimchee.
Pamela Giaroli
Pamela Giaroli is a cinematographer who also designs and builds interiors and sets for homes, offices and theatres. She actively collaborates with many artists in her two fields, strategizing with theatre architects and artists in the creation of theatre sets and working with award-winning filmmakers such as Yara Travieso and Maxi Cohen, who have numerous multimedia installation and art pieces in permanent collections and museums. Pamela aims to empower women in male-dominated fields like film production and home improvement, by opening a new company for women-only collaborators.
Laura Siegel
Laura loves all things weird, extraordinary, nerdy, and noisy. She is thrilled to be a part of the HONK Team.
