Large scale art requires a special set of skills and circumstances to produce, and to show. It also elicits a particular level of attention from an audience. Come listen to a panel of artists and curators (FiveTonCrane, Burning Man, Flux Foundation, Zach Coffin, Maker Faire) who have gone deep into the science of building and showing monumental art.
Jess Hobbs
Jess is an idea generator, a maker and a social sculptor. Collaboration is her magic ingredient for success in work, community, art and life. This can be seen through her founding and directing work with the Flux Foundation and All Power Labs .

Zachary Coffin has been building large scale art for over 20 years. His focus is on transformation of viewer into participant via interactive and kinetic work. Influenced by engineering, his style is marked by design clarity and absence of ornament.

Sean Orlando is a multidisciplinary installation artist, museum professional, and community organizer with an interest in collaborative and immersive large-scale sculptural installations. Orlando is the co-founder of the Five Ton Crane Arts Group and principal artist at Engineered Artworks.

Elizabeth Scarborough
Elizabeth Scarborough, also known as BettieJune, is the Associate Director of Art Management for Burning Man. Her focus is overseeing all the art on the open playa, guiding artists from their initial proposals and concepts through the installation’s completion.
