Tim Thompson is a software engineer, musician, and installation artist who enjoys building things that encourage and enhance the creativity of those who encounter them.
Casual Instruments are immediately playable with minimal instruction. This exhibit has two of them - a newly refined Space Palette (played by waving your hands in the holes of a wood frame), and a new looping system for the LinnStrument controller.
What inspired you to make this project?:
Ever since I went to Burning Man in 2002, I've loved building interactive installations for others to enjoy. Burning Man explicitly values and supports interactive art.
