Maker Faires Around the World
From tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers, Maker Faire is where novices and experts of all ages come together to show what they’ve made and share what they’ve learned. Each year, hundreds of independently organized Maker Faires occur globally, featuring international makers and highlighting local culture and communities. At all, participants come to share, learn, and get inspired.

How did Maker Faire start?
Maker Faire originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006 when founder Dale Dougherty envisioned bringing the pages of Make: magazine to life, celebrating the stories and people behind the projects, coining the term “maker,” and jumpstarting the maker movement.
Can I organize a Maker Faire?
You can! Celebrate innovation, spark creativity, share skills, and connect the creative people and innovative projects in your community by establishing a Maker Faire in your school, city, or region. Maker Faires come in all shapes and sizes, bringing together makers of all ages!
