About the Maker(s)

Bonnie Martin-HudsonBonnie Martin-Hudson [
Miayawear
I am a self taught seamstress and have been sewing since I was 9 years old. I started Miayawear in 2005 after the birth of my son. Products include new and recycled fabric bags, Hawaiian baby shirts, baby dresses, organic Texas grown cotton comforters, organic clothing and my newest addition: red riding hood capes! Each year I expand and change my product line so I don’t get too bored sewing the same things over and over. Recently I discovered Ebay, and now duke it out with some crazy quilting ladies for really interesting fabric for my line of baby shirts. I am dedicated to sustainable manufacturing and can hook anyone up with my organic fabric sources or assist moms in making their own baby clothing. I also take custom clothing orders in any of the organic fabric I have in stock. I sell my wares at the Austin Farmer's Market every Saturday and the Artist's Market when it is in Round Rock every 2nd Sunday of the month. All my items are manufactured in my microfactory located here in Austin, TX. I don't outsource and because of this my kitchen looks like a sweat shop. I am blessed to do what I love and make a few dollars doing it too.
