Maker Faire Austin 2007
Hebron Crushing Machine

For many years, this group of artists has worked with recycled materials to turn them into art. A heavy-duty machine they created can crush any material: paper, aluminum, steel, plastic, glass, dirt, and much more. All are transformed into a beautiful brick ready to use to sculpt into art. The material made by this machine was used for Keep Austin Beautiful awards for 2007. Come by to see the machine that can recycle just about anything.

About the Maker(s)

George Sabra George Sabra is a local artist who use recycled materials to create works of art that inspire people to understand the difference between what is man made and what is natural. I resurrect the materials people would like to forget about and turn them into something beautiful, living so that they can look at these materials again and understand what they mean. Sometimes I make art from the stone and the wood and it is beautiful, but it is beautiful as it is naturally. When I make beautiful art from the discarded, man made materials, it is like returning to the light what is lost to the darkness.
