Maker Faire Austin 2007
Quest for the Dark Planet
This dramatic, entertaining space/fantasy/adventure film introduces and explores an original universe full of unique characters. Years in the making, the movie features completely original props and hardware, visual effects, and music. Old toys, model kits and other items have been recycled and repurposed to create art and inventions that are reminiscent of 1980s shows, before the age of computer graphics.

About the Maker(s)
John P. Funk John P. Funk is an artist, musician, and creator who has been creating artistic inventions ever since I can remember. He grew up with a garage full of old Bell telephone hardware and he used to make things out of the components. Star Trek, Thunderbirds, and seeing the the first lunar landing when he was four inspired his interest in space. His artistic credits span a variety of media: simulation, games, television, and indie films. He also composes all of the music for his media and loves performing with his guitar synth.
