I can't think of a better way to both entertain and educate Austin on the practical possibilities of electric powered vehicles that are available today.
Recent projects:
Audio/visual recording and playback software for The Time Machine: HTTP://thetimemachine.org
Homemade 23 foot geodesic dome for community living space implementing a solar array to power a small sound system and LED lighting.

I love the idea of small, efficient urban transportation! Austin is already a very green-minded city, and the introduction of how to build something easy, small, and utilitarian. Including the students and community members in the building process will be a wonderful way to have people get hands-on with their transportation needs, and realize just how easy it can be!
Recent projects:
3 years experience producing unique community-minded events in Austin, including charity benefits as part of the SXSW festival: HTTP://www.wednesdaynightdinner.org
Production of Cirque Du Molé, a performance-cooking/variety show performed at Burning Man Arts Festival 2006, as well as local festivals and venues around Austin: HTTP://www.wednesdaynightdinner.org/cdm.html
Over 10 years of performance and set construction experience in numerous theatrical spaces around Texas

My first experience building an art car project for First Night left me with one overwhelming realization: Wow, what an amazing thing to build and be a part of... so, what are we supposed to do with it now?
Art doesn't have to be functional, but what if it were? What if it could possibly motivate someone to do something that not only changed their life, but had a direct positive impact on the planet? What if we could use art to teach a person how to fish rather than just give them a fish to eat?
Many of us know how to "fish"... why not share what we know with each other? It seems like art projects are a great vehicle for facilitating this. I would like to believe open-source is the way of the future. As a people we can work together towards an enrichment of our lives and our relationship with our planet and all it's inhabitants. I've seen for myself the amazing support and potential of a community based on sharing their excess as opposed to competing for our own little chunk of consumerist pie. My interest is to facilitate this sharing, to help create and galvanize communities around concepts like sustainable energy and green building. If it's harmonious with nature, seems like it's mutually beneficial for everyone, thus better living for all. Why spend life just chasing the corporate cheese?
