About the Maker(s)

Jerry Chamkis Los Angeles native Jerry Chamkis started playing with electronics as soon as he was able to lift a wire. He "ran away screaming" from a career in physics when he realized the majority of job opportunities involve making bombs. He served as chief engineer of KPFT in Houston during the era the KKK expressed themselves by dynamiting radio transmitters. He moved to Austin and formed AERCO, Acme Electric Robot Company. He still builds music recording equipment and teaches at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
