Maker Faire Austin 2007
Dirty Car Art
Go way beyond "wash me". Watch what happens when an artist works a canvas of dirty car windows using a medium of fine, white limestone dust, the "caliche" of the mile-and-a-half long dirt road he hits whenever he leaves home. His art results in amazingly detailed and shaded drawing.

About the Maker(s)
Scott Wade Scott Wade has drawn on dirty auto glass as long as he can remember. But it wasn't until after he'd lived at the end of a long dirt road for 17 years that he began to develop the techniques he uses today to produce astoundingly detailed and shaded drawings of everything from reproductions of old masters' works, to pop-culture iconography, to his own fanciful originals--all in the dust on the rear windows of his car! A trained painter and illustrator, Scott has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for over 25 years and has taken private commissions for paintings, murals and sculptures. He is also an accomplished musician, having composed original scores for theater, and has been a drummer/percussionist for many Texas bands over the past three decades.
